Oman’s education ministry opens registration for literacy, adult education programs for 2024-2025 academic year

The Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of registration for literacy and adult education programs for the 2024/2025 academic year.

Muscat – The registration period for literacy education will be open from September 1, 2024, to October 10, 2024, while adult education registration will run from September 1, 2024, to October 17, 2024.
To ensure a smooth registration process, applicants are advised to follow these instructions:

  • Applications will only be considered if submitted within the specified registration dates. Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • Registration can be completed online via the Ministry’s e-portal at https://eportal.moe.gov.om.
  • Applicants may register in the governorate of their permanent address or the governorate where they are employed, provided they include evidence of employment from their employer.
  • It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all data entered and attachments submitted are accurate. Errors may result in the rejection of the application.
  • Social security beneficiaries are exempt from paying registration fees. Proof of social security status must be provided.
  • Applications that do not include the required fees and documents will be rejected.
    Registration fees for adult education is RO 50 for first-time registration and RO 30 for re-registration.
    Required Documents:
  • A valid ID card (must be valid for at least six months)
  • Copies of academic certificates from the most recent semester completed
  • Social security card for those exempt from fees
  • A no-objection letter from the employer if currently employed
  • Proof of employment in the governorate if registering outside the permanent address
    Applicants should follow the detailed registration steps outlined in the guide available online. After submission, applicants will receive a text message with their application number and must await further instructions. Successful applications will be confirmed via text message following fee payment.

    For those with certificates obtained outside the Sultanate, it is crucial to select the option indicating that they are coming from abroad; failure to do so will result in application rejection. Individuals interested in remote adult education classes should contact the Lifelong Learning Department in their educational governorate for further information.

    For any issues or inquiries, applicants can follow up via email notifications or by contacting the General Directorate of Education in their registered governorate within five days of application submission.

    The Ministry of Education encourages all interested individuals to complete their registration promptly and adhere to all instructions to ensure their participation in these essential educational programs.
