Muscat: Organized by the Oman Table Tennis Association in partnership with the International Table Tennis Federation, the championship promises intense competition with participants from 12 countries, including powerhouses like China, Japan, and Germany. Players will battle it out in various categories, such as men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, all while aiming for glory across six tables specially prepared for the event.

The Omani squad, led by coach Omid Shams Shahrabaki, features homegrown talent like Muhannad Al Balushi and Asaad Al Raisi, eager to make their mark on this international stage. The tournament is a platform for these athletes to hone their skills and an opportunity to rack up international ranking points ahead of the more prestigious Oman International Competitive Championship later this year.

With all technical and logistical arrangements in place, including installing a new rubber floor and enhanced lighting, the stage is set for a world-class event. Abdullah bin Mohammed Bamkhalef, Chairman of the Oman Table Tennis Association, emphasized the tournament’s significance, highlighting its role in developing Omani expertise in organization, arbitration, and training.
