Muscat – Since its inception on January 1, 2024, the centre has welcomed over 6,000 visitors. It plays a crucial role in guiding tourists to key heritage sites, cultural landmarks, and popular destinations across the Sultanate. The centre provides detailed information about tourism companies, hotels, local events, and various activities aimed at enhancing the visitor experience.

Hana bint Salem Al Bahrani, Head of the Heritage and Cultural Tourism Department and Supervisor of the Tourist Guidance Centre, highlighted the centre’s multifaceted services. “We offer a range of tourism materials including brochures, leaflets, guide cards, and maps. Additionally, we provide essential information about museums, tourism service providers, and hotels,” Al Bahrani explained.

The centre also supports visitors with inquiries related to traditional markets, transportation, and dining options. It assists in booking tours, trips, and cruises in Muscat and its surrounding areas, thereby contributing to a more streamlined and enjoyable travel experience.

In response to visitor feedback, the Tourist Guidance Centre is developing electronic forms to collect visitor comments and measure satisfaction with the services provided. These initiatives aim to continually refine the visitor experience and address any concerns.

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is also expanding its efforts by preparing to establish new tourist guidance centres in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate. The ministry is finalizing the necessary approvals and is committed to incorporating sustainable practices in the development and operation of these new centres.
The Tourist Guidance Centre at Muttrah continues to be a vital resource for tourists, reflecting Oman’s commitment to promoting its rich cultural heritage and enhancing the overall visitor experience.
