Muscat: Affiliated with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), Ibri Industrial City has swiftly become a prime location for setting up shops. By the end of June 2024, investments in the city surged past RO 14 million, with 14 localized projects already underway. These include production, construction, and allocated land for future ventures. Currently, the industrial city employs 20 workers, underscoring its growing economic impact.

Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi, Director General of Ibri Industrial City, highlighted the completion of the infrastructure’s first phase, a crucial step in developing this 10 million square meter site in Al Dhahirah Governorate. The initial 3 million square meters are now equipped with essential services such as roads, sewage, rainwater networks, and sustainable energy solutions. The city is set to host a variety of industrial and commercial activities, including light and medium industries, food and paper sectors, equipment maintenance for oil and gas, and more.

A comprehensive station project is underway to enhance local services. It will feature a fuel filling station, rest stop, and service station for trucks and cars. This facility will cater to companies, workers, nearby residents, and travellers along the international road to Saudi Arabia.

Green initiatives are also a top priority, with 500 Omani trees recently planted as part of an environmental sustainability effort. The city aims to expand its green spaces further in the future.

Since its infrastructure launch in late February 2024, Ibri Industrial City has quickly attracted attention due to its strategic location at the crossroads of major trade routes between East and West and its proximity to Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
