Indian School Bousher honours more than 500 students for academic excellence

More than 500 students were recognized for their academic excellence, including CBSE grade 10 and 12 school and subject toppers, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.

Muscat – Indian School Bousher hosted its Annual Award Ceremony with great  enthusiasm, celebrating the outstanding achievements of its students. The event was honoured  by the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors for Indian  Schools in Oman, and Guest of Honour Ms. Ashwini Sawrikar from the Academic Committee of  the Board of Directors for Indian Schools in Oman, along with Dr Sayed Fazlur Rehman, Convenor,  Chairperson – Sports and Co-Curricular Sub-Committee, Mr Piyush Agarwal, Treasurer,  Chairperson – Finance Sub-committee, ⁠Mr Shanmugam Purushottaman, Chairperson –Building  and Infrastructure Sub- Committee, Dr Vinod Patchigalla, ⁠ Chairperson – HR Sub-Committee, Ms  Sowmiya Parameswaran, Chairperson – Staff Welfare and Grievance Redressal Sub- Committee  and Ms Remya Damodaran – Member, Building and Infrastructure Sub-Committee. 

The Chief Guest, Dr. Sivakumar Manickam and the Guest of Honour, Ms Ashwini Sawrikar  inaugurated the “Hall of Fame,” a new initiative created to highlight the international  achievements of the school’s young talents. 

The event commenced with graceful melodies of faith, followed by the welcome address and the prelude of Annual Awards by Mr. Prabhakaran P, Principal of Indian School Bousher. Sampriti  Anand, a student of Grade XI in Indian School Bousher was recognized for becoming the youngest paragliding pilot in Oman. This was followed by the felicitation of awardees across various  categories by the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honour and the members of School Management  Committee. More than 500 students were recognized for their academic excellence, including  CBSE grade 10 and 12 school and subject toppers, marking a significant milestone in their  educational journey.  

In his address, Dr. Sivakumar Manickam emphasized that education is a journey characterized by  perseverance, determination, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He encouraged students to  be consistent in their efforts, noting that consistency is the key to unlocking success. He also  reminded the audience that learning extends beyond the classroom and is a lifelong journey,  encouraging students to stay curious, open-minded, and committed to self-improvement. In his  message to teachers, he stressed the importance of nurturing self-directed, lifelong learners. He  commended Indian School Bousher for its dedication to student development, aligning with the 

school’s vision and mission. He concluded by reiterating that consistency is the key to success in  all endeavours. 

The Guest of Honour, Ms. Ashwini Sawrikar, congratulated the awardees and commended them  for their dedication and perseverance. She emphasized the importance of recognizing and  celebrating achievements, which serve as milestones in the students’ academic and personal  growth. Ms. Sawrikar encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence, reminding them  that their hard work and determination are the keys to their future success. She also urged them  to remain focused on their goals, assuring them that their efforts would undoubtedly lead to  greater accomplishments in the years to come. 

The program also showcased a lively cultural segment, featuring a dance performance titled  “Dancing Towards Academic Excellence: The Rhythm of Learning and Achievement,” along with  an uplifting rendition of the song “A Million Dreams” by the school choir. The event concluded  with a closing address by Ms. Ambika Padmanabhan, the Vice Principal of Indian School Bousher,  who expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions to the success of the event.
