MUSCAT : Issued by the World Bank Group, the Be Ready Index replaces the previous Ease of Doing Business indicator, which was discontinued in 2021. This new approach offers a comprehensive analysis through several key pillars: regulatory framework, public services, and overall efficiency.
The index measures several critical topics, including starting a business, international trade, employment, and taxes. It also scrutinizes the efficiency of public services, financial services, and conflict resolution mechanisms. With a focus on market competition and commercial insolvency, the Be Ready Index aims to provide a holistic view of how conducive each economy is for business operations.
Key components of the index include the regulatory framework, which looks at how regulations impact business, and the overall efficiency of public services. The index uses data gathered from specialized expert surveys, business enterprise surveys, and global indicators of organizational governance.
