Oman’s Public Prosecution warns against environmental damage

The Public Prosecution in Oman has issued a stern warning against any activities that harm the environment.

MUSCAT : The Public Prosecution stated that any activity affecting the quantity or quality of vegetation in any area, or resulting in desertification or deformation of the natural environment is an offense, as per the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Law.

The statement specified that offenders may face imprisonment of up to three months, a fine of RO 5,000, or both.
