MUSCAT : The FSA has discovered that several people seeking help through the Authority’s website have been misdirected to fraudulent sites through Google search results. These bogus links then lead to scammers who contact victims via WhatsApp, asking for personal and banking details under the guise of simplifying procedures. Unfortunately, this leads to unauthorized deductions from their accounts.
The FSA has clarified that it does not request bank information through these channels. Complaints should only be submitted through their official website, www.fsa.gov.om, and all communication should occur through their official WhatsApp number: 93695094.
