Muscat – According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information, the overall weight of these imports amounted to about 11,348,034 kilograms, down from 12,221,045 kilograms in 2023.

The United Arab Emirates leads as the primary supplier of vehicle spare parts to Oman, with imports valued at RO 19,480,336. Japan follows with RO 13,728,648, while India, Thailand, and China contribute RO 2,156,903, RO 1,999,484, and RO 1,669,950, respectively.

On the export front, Oman’s vehicle spare parts exports reached RO 9,868,483 by the end of May 2024, marking a 27.04 percent increase from RO 7,767,713 in 2023. The total weight of exported spare parts was about 14,327,313 kilograms, up from 10,244,585 kilograms last year. The Czech Republic tops the list of importers with a value of RO 4,098,425, followed by Mexico, the Netherlands, the USA, and the UAE.

Re-exports of vehicle spare parts have seen a significant decline, totaling RO 11,125,786, a decrease of 65.66 percent from RO 32,396,522 in 2023. The total weight of re-exported parts was 2,646,405 kilograms, down from 5,286,371 kilograms the previous year. The UAE leads in re-exports, valued at RO 7,282,841, with Turkey, the UK, Luxembourg, and the USA following.

It is worth noting that as of April 2024, the Sultanate of Oman had 1,527 institutions involved in the sale of vehicle spare parts, comprising 856 retailers of new parts and 671 specializing in used parts.
