Muscat – This final phase, set to run until November, will focus on the installation of metal plates on selected perennial wild trees, which will map the spatial distribution of these trees and enhance public awareness about their environmental, economic, and social significance.

The project aims to spread the culture of planting local trees while preserving the existing ones and promoting awareness regarding encroachment on them. It also supports the national goal of planting 10 million trees by promoting the planting of local species, which play crucial roles in moderating climate, absorbing carbon dioxide, reducing dust, and providing habitats for wildlife. Additionally, the project aims to reduce reliance on printed materials, thus minimizing deforestation caused by paper production.

The Environment Authority hopes that this project will foster community involvement in sustainable development efforts, reinforcing the commitment to environmental conservation and the responsible management of natural resources.
