Oman Business Platform transacts success in first half of 2024 with 487,300 transactions

Muscat: The Oman Business Platform, a key initiative by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, recorded a remarkable 487,300 transactions in the first half of 2024. This digital platform is designed to facilitate business operations, encourage investment, and enhance economic activity in Oman. In the same period, the platform processed 195,556 automatic licenses and issued 6,061 non-automatic licenses, alongside 2,747 e-commerce licenses.

Mubarak bin Mohammed Al Duhani, Director General of Commerce and Head of the Digital Transformation Team, highlighted that the platform offers around 50 electronic services, making it easier for investors to establish and run businesses in Oman. The Oman Business Platform app saw 7,245 downloads, with users benefiting from services like patent registration, free zone licenses, and social media marketing activities.

The Ministry, in cooperation with various government agencies, continues to expand the platform’s capabilities, including new services in the private school education sector and integration of commercial sign issuance with economic activity licenses. These enhancements are part of a broader effort to simplify and speed up commercial transactions, improving the ease of business in Oman.

The platform’s success is evident, with over 280,000 transactions completed through self-service last year and significant activity across free zones, law firms, and Sanad offices.
