MUSCAT : Abdulrahman Al Hatmi, CEO of Asyad Group, is ranked at the 24th position, while Talal Said Al Mamari, CEO of Omantel, has secured 48th; Hussain Al Lawati, CEO of Utico, has claimed the 98th spot.

The Forbes’ report highlighted that Al Hatmi has been in his current role at Asyad since 2016. It also noted that the group has a diversified portfolio of assets valued at $4.1 billion and recorded a group revenue of more than $1.2 billion in 2023.

The report explained that Al Mamari took over the role of Omantel CEO in June 2014, having first joined Omantel as vice president in 2009. Al Mameri is also a board member of the Zain Group and the Oman Center for Governance and Sustainability.

Al Lawati, it pointed out,, assumed his current role at Utico in 2020 – Utico is the U.A.E.’s only private service utility, water, and power company. Al Lawati was previously the investment director of private equity at the Oman Investment Fund.

The Forbes’ fourth annual list of the Top 100 CEOs in the Middle East highlights the achievements of top executives driving regional economic growth and development. Forbes evaluated CEOs based on their impact, experience, company performance, and innovative initiatives.

The top 100 CEOs include leaders from 19 nationalities. Emiratis dominate with 27 entries, followed by Egyptians with 21 and Saudis with 14. This is a positive sign for localization, with most large companies now headed by local executives. The banking sector has the most entries, with 19, followed by real estate with 10, reflecting the boom in the sector over the last two years.
