Oman’s Social Development Ministry announces rehabilitation program schedule

The Ministry of Social Development has announced the start of its rehabilitation, evaluation, and vacation programmes for the 2024-2025 qualification year.

MUSCAT : These programmes will commence on August 25, 2024, and continue until July 3, 2025, across various government, private, and civil rehabilitation centers for individuals with disabilities.

The government-operated rehabilitation centres participating in the programme include National Centre for Autism, Vocational Rehabilitation Centre in Seeb, Early Intervention Centre, Oman Down Syndrome Centre, Al Wafa Centres for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, Mobile Rehabilitation Units and the Autism Unit in Jalan Bani Bu Hassan.

The rehabilitation year activities in both government and civil society organisation-affiliated centres will start on September 1, 2024, and run through May 29, 2025.

For the 2024-2025 qualificying year, the academic schedule is divided into two semesters. The first semester will begin on September 1, 2024, and end on January 30, 2025, while the second semester will run from February 16, 2025, to May 29, 2025.

The Ministry has outlined specific dates for the procedures related to the transfer and enrolment of individuals with disabilities. The first phase of transferring and enrolling individuals in special rehabilitation centres will start on September 1, 2024, and end on October 3, 2024. The second phase will occur from December 29, 2024, to January 30, 2025.

For those on the waiting list, the first phase of enrolment will be from September 29, 2024, to October 31, 2024, and the second phase will follow from December 29, 2024, to January 30, 2025.
