MUSCAT : The results indicate the employment of 14,074 citizens in the public and private sectors, with an achievement rate of 54 percent of the total targeted employment plan for 2024.

Detailed indicators of the plan for the first half of 2024 (January – end of June) showed that a total of 6,963 Omanis were employed in the public sector, out of the target of 10,000 cadres; 7,111 were employed in the private sector, of the target set for 16,000.

As for training linked to replacement/employment in the public sector, the target was 2,000, of which 305 were met; the target for the private sector was 7,000, of which 1,107 were fulfilled. The total number of direct employment and employment through training linked to employment reached 15,486, people out of the plan’s target of 35,000, showing an achievement rate of 44.25 percent.

The Ministry of Labour stressed that the employment plan is of great significance in creating continuous job opportunities in the public and private sectors, due to its firm belief in human capital and effective partnership with the private sector.

The Ministry works to create job opportunities for citizens in various sectors to regulate the labour market and raise the percentage of national workforce in the public and private sectors, which contributes to driving the Omani economy, improving the level of the Omani market, and raising the percentage of Omanisation in all employment sectors.
