Indian School Al Ghubra celebrates 78th Independence Day

Indian School Al Ghubra marked the 78th Independence Day of India with a spirited celebration on August 15, 2024.

MUSCAT : Indian School Al Ghubra observed the 78th Independence Day of India on Thursday, the 15th of August 2024, with a spirit of national fervour.

Mr Ahmed Rayees, President, School Management Committee, and Mr Sunil K. A., Convenor, SMC, graced the event with their presence.
 
The program began with the school band playing the National Anthem of India. The band continued with the patriotic songs ‘Aye Mere Watan Ke Logon’ and the marching tune titled ‘Bharat Ke Jawan’. 
 
The students of classes 7, 8, and 9 presented a choral rendition titled ‘Apne Maati Hain’, which translates into ‘This is our soil’. The song showcased the mesmerising beauty of India. This was followed by a video presentation on what the youngsters of today think about the freedom struggle in India. 
 
In keeping with the theme of ‘Viksit Bharat’, the western choir presented a soulful rendition titled ‘Rise up, rise up, India!’. A captivating semi-classical dance performance by the students of class 8 brought to life the diverse beauty of the nation.
 
Sarah Pranav G of class 7, Srihari K. Syam, and Adhithya Rajesh of class 9 entertained the audience by playing instrumental music. 
 
Aqeedath Khanum and Aarushi Manikandan of class 11 were the comperes of the event.
 
The celebrations concluded with the principal, Mrs. Papri Ghosh, saying a prayer seeking the blessings of the Almighty for a progressive and inclusive nation where every citizen enjoys freedom.
