MUSCAT : This innovative initiative has been celebrated as a standout in the Technology Track of the Upgrade Program for Transforming Projects into Startups, overseen by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.

The project, led by CEO Al-Hussain bin Ali Al-Hadrami, aims to generate clean electricity by exploiting the energy from wave movement and solar power. It represents a significant step towards achieving Oman Vision 2040’s goal of a sustainable and balanced economy. By tapping into renewable resources, the project seeks to provide reliable electricity to remote areas and offshore oil platforms, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, and minimize carbon emissions.

“The project is one of the most innovative national efforts in renewable energy,” said Al-Hadrami. “It supports the transition to a green economy and contributes to preserving the environment and reducing carbon emissions and enhances the efforts of Oman to preserve its natural resources and marine biodiversity.”

The system employs advanced technologies, including electric generators that convert wave motion into power and solar panels to harness sunlight. It features an advanced hydrodynamic design that maximizes energy efficiency using smart control systems, 3D simulations, and finite element analysis to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

The project not only promises a sustainable energy supply but also aims to provide energy solutions for desalination plants and remote areas. It is set to stimulate job creation in manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, invigorate the local economy, and support economic sustainability.

Looking ahead, plans include developing various floating structures, integrating AI technologies, and exploring additional renewable energy sources to enhance the project’s scope and impact.
