MUSCAT : Samou bint Amer Tabuk shared her inspiring journey from a student with a dream to the founder of Sumou Design Studio, a project launched in 2019 with backing from the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises.

The idea for Sumou Design Studio emerged from the increasing demand for innovative and sustainable design solutions in Oman. Tabuk’s vision is to positively impact the architectural landscape and provide tailored designs for individuals and institutions alike. Since its inception, the studio has evolved from handling small projects to achieving significant milestones, including large-scale commercial work and residential designs.
Under Tabuk’s leadership, the studio has experienced a 30 per cent annual growth in its client base over the past two years and has garnered positive feedback, highlighting its success and rising demand. Government support has played a crucial role, providing facilities that have accelerated the project’s growth and enhanced the business environment.

Looking ahead, Tabuk aims to expand Sumou Design Studio’s services across the GCC, incorporating innovative technologies and fostering strategic partnerships with leading firms. Despite challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic, which caused delays and disruptions, Tabuk’s perseverance and adaptability allowed her to continue working and engaging with clients effectively.
