Muscat – A key objective of the initiative is to transition 30 percent of Oman’s factories into advanced manufacturing facilities, while keeping pace with modern technology and enhance competitiveness.
Launched with the goal of modernizing the industrial sector, the initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of local manufacturing through the adoption of advanced technologies and practices.
The Smart Production Factories Initiative employs global methodologies to evaluate and advance the development levels of factories through two distinct pathways:
- Targets existing factories, aiming to transform them into factories that adopt the latest industrial practices.
- Targets new factories, ensuring their design and construction adhere to global standards for manufacturing and production efficiency.
By promoting this initiative, the Ministry aims to foster a more competitive and technologically sophisticated industrial landscape in Oman, positioning local factories for success in a rapidly evolving global market.
