Muscat – Running from August 2 to 20, 2024, the program, overseen by the Ministry’s Directorate General of External Media, and seeks to attract tourists from Europe, North America, Africa, and East Asia.

Sheikha bint Ahmed Al Mahrouqi, Acting Director General of External Media, explained that the initiative is designed to enhance Oman’s global cultural and tourism presence. It features participation from prominent media outlets such as Reuters, the Foreign Journalists Association, National Geographic, Chinese TV, Turkish TV, and various media from Italy, Spain, Belgium, and Australia.

The program includes visits to key sites in Dhofar, including the ancient city of Samharam, Khor Rori, the Frankincense Land Museum, and Wadi Dawkah. Participants will also explore economic hubs like Salalah Port and Salalah Free Zone, alongside cultural experiences and events from the Dhofar Khareef Season 2024.

David Rolle, a photographer for National Geographic, praised the visit, highlighting the region’s diverse natural beauty, from frankincense trees in Wadi Dawkah to the scenic Al Mughsail Beach. He described the trip as “wonderful,” noting his visits to Al Fazayeh Beach, Wadi Darbat, and Al Hafa Market, and appreciating the historical sites such as Samharam and Al Baleed.

Max Stanton, an e-content creator, remarked on the unique experience of visiting Dhofar during the autumn season. He emphasized the region’s varied topography and activities, including adventure tourism and cultural exploration, which cater to diverse interests and showcase Oman’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
