Muscat: Al Dakhiliyah Governorate is buzzing with economic activity as the Department of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion reveals a strong start to the year. In the first half of 2024, the department received approximately 1,410 applications for new commercial records and processed 755 certificates of origin, highlighting a thriving business environment.
Hilal bin Badr Al Rashdi, Director of the department, announced 11 promising investment opportunities across various wilayats in Al Dakhiliyah, totalling around RO 61.4 million. These ventures span a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, industrial, and food security fields. Notable projects include an electrical conductors factory, a meat and poultry manufacturing unit, and a factory for glazed ceramics.
The governorate’s industrial landscape is expanding rapidly, with 110 new industrial licenses issued and 87 foreign investment records completed in the first half of the year. The total number of records has reached 674, reflecting the area’s growing appeal to investors.

Al Rashdi emphasized that Al Dakhiliyah’s industrial cities, such as Nizwa and Samayil, are particularly attractive to investors. Nizwa Industrial City alone boasts 173 projects with a combined investment of RO 473 million, while Samayil Industrial City has drawn 160 projects with investments totalling RO 160 million.
