ABU DHABI: More than 100 suspects are set to stand trial in Abu Dhabi, accused of operating the criminal gang known as ‘Bahloul’. This group is charged with crimes that endanger state security, public order, and peace following an extensive seven-month investigation by the UAE’s Public Prosecution.

The investigation uncovered that the Bahloul gang, armed with illegal weapons, extorted money from their victims through intimidation. The illicit funds were then laundered and distributed among gang members. Authorities have reported that their criminal activities were further amplified through social media platforms.

The gang has been referred to the State Security Department of the Abu Dhabi Federal Appeals Court for trial. UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi emphasized the nation’s zero-tolerance policy towards criminal activities and terrorism. He assured the public of law enforcement’s commitment to maintaining state security and urged citizens and residents to report any criminal activity they encounter.
