MUSCAT : A total of 135,028 new licenses were granted, with 72,899 issued to expatriates and 62,129 to Omanis.
In total, 462,482 licenses, including renewals, were processed in 2023. Of these, 354,829 were issued to males and 107,653 to females.
Geographically, the majority of licenses were issued in Muscat, with 143,008, followed by Al Batinah North with 58,364, Al Dhakilyah with 40,445, and Dhofar with 38,610.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) online portal facilitated the issuance of 70,494 licenses, demonstrating the growing reliance on digital services.
Vehicle registration also saw an increase, with 1,667,393 vehicles registered in 2023, up from 1,606,376 in 2022.
