MUSCAT : This collaboration aims to elevate Oman’s global profile through motorsports, showcasing the country’s rich heritage and tourism attractions.

Under the agreement, the Oman Racing Team will represent the Sultanate at prestigious international motorsports events, including the World Endurance Championship and the European GT Challenge World Endurance Championship. These competitions, which span continents and include rounds in France, Germany, Belgium, and Italy, offer a platform to promote Oman on a global stage.

As part of the “Discover Oman” marketing initiative, the Ministry seeks to position Oman as a premier destination for tourists seeking relaxation, cultural experiences, and authentic historical exploration. The partnership will feature Oman prominently in promotional campaigns during races, with increased media coverage and social media broadcasting aimed at boosting the country’s visibility as a travel destination.

Commenting on this partnership, H.E. Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, said: “We are proud to collaborate with Ahmed Al Harthy and the Oman Racing Team to enhance tourism promotion for the Sultanate at world-class motorsports events.
This partnership will significantly boost Oman’s presence internationally and attract tourists seeking diverse experiences, including heritage and cultural activities, as well as renowned Omani hospitality.”

On his part, champion Ahmed Al Harthy, who has been a global ambassador for Oman for nearly 15 years, also expressed his excitement about the partnership., stressing that it represents an opportunity to promote the Sultanate of Oman worldwide through the activities in which I participate and the global racing series in the prestigious circuits in France, Germany, Brazil, America, Japan and others.

Al Harthy said, “My current presence in two different championships with two strong teams and with international competitors such as the Italian world champion Valentino Rossi, is an opportunity to promote the heritage, tourism and cultural sites that the Sultanate of Oman abounds in, which contributes to introducing it to the world as a preferred destination for tourism throughout the year.”
