Muscat – The Ministry has reported a significant rise in the use of electronic services and smart application licenses in the land transport sector through the Naql platform.
Since its launch in 2020, the platform has facilitated more than 429,000 electronic transactions, reflecting its growing popularity and efficiency.
The Naql platform currently offers 15 electronic services in the land transport sector, covering various fields such as taxi licenses, passenger transport by bus, and freight transport. The platform has issued seven licenses for taxi service applications, two for passenger transport by bus, and five for freight transport. Additionally, four licenses for land transport shelters have been issued, aimed at providing safe and suitable facilities away from residential neighborhoods.
The Naql platform has recorded a significant increase in registered means of transportation, surpassing 490,000 vehicles for both passengers and goods, while the number of passengers transported exceeded 12 million.
These figures underscore the sustainable growth of the land transport sector and the increasing reliance on electronic services and smart applications. The Ministry continues to work on providing the necessary infrastructure to support the land transport sector’s development.
