Oman Air ranks second globally for in-flight food quality

Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, has been recognized as the second-best airline in the world for its in-flight food.

MUSCAT : The prestigious accolade comes after a comprehensive analysis by MoneySuperMarket’s travel insurance team, which examined over 27,000 passenger reviews of in-flight meals across more than 100 airlines.

Kuwait Airways clinched the top position with an average score of 8.58 out of 10 across all cabin classes, offering meals ranging from multi-course options in economy to lobster and beef in their ‘Royal Class’ service.

Oman Air came a close second with a score of 8.44, followed by Middle Eastern Airlines with a score of 8.39; Air Algerie (8.16) and Air BALTIC (8.03) rounded out the top five.

Oman Air’s commitment to enhancing its passengers’ meal experience includes catering to various dietary needs, ensuring every traveler enjoys a delightful culinary journey.

Middle Eastern airlines demonstrated strong performance in the food rankings, with Qatar Airways, Emirates, Etihad, and Gulf Air also receiving high scores. This showcases the region’s excellence in providing exceptional in-flight dining experiences.

While the survey highlighted overall food quality, it also delved into specific cabin classes. Swiss International Air Lines emerged as the frontrunner for first-class dining, while Air Algerie took top honors in economy.

Oman Air’s recognition is a testament to its dedication to providing world-class service and culinary experiences at altitude.
