Muscat – According to the National Centre for Statistics and Information, hotels with classifications of three to five stars saw their revenues rise by 8.6 percent, reaching RO 119.493 million compared to RO 110.068 million in the same period last year.
This surge in hotel revenues is primarily attributed to a 10.7 percent increase in the total number of hotel guests. By the end of June 2024, approximately 1,045,226 guests were recorded, up from 944,268 guests by the end of June 2023. Additionally, the occupancy rate experienced a growth of 2.7 percent.
Statistics showed that the number of Omani guests increased by 7.4 percent to reach 363,240 guests, while the number of Gulf guests increased by 3 percent to reach 75,066 guests.
The total number of other Arab guests reached 49,040, showing an increase of 11 percent. While the number of European guests increased by 19.2 percent to reach 298,247, number of guests from the Americas reached 32,090 and from Oceania 15,619.
The number of guests from the African continent reached 5,528 guests – an increase of 0.8 percent; the number of Asian guests increased by 12.6 percent to reach 159,187 guests.
