CPA recovers RO 20,000 for consumer in Muscat Governorate

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), through its Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, successfully recovered RO 20,000 for a consumer in Muscat Governorate who had been deceived and misled by an interior design company.

MUSCAT : The consumer had contracted a company specializing in interior design and decoration to furnish their house with lighting, furniture, and accessories according to their preferences and the specifications outlined in their agreement.

However, upon completion, it was discovered that the furniture and design were defective and did not align with the agreed-upon specifications.

In response to the consumer’s complaint, the Anti-Commercial Fraud Department conducted a thorough investigation, which led to an amicable settlement. The company agreed to refund RO 20,000 to the consumer and retrieve the substandard goods that did not meet the specified requirements.

The CPA is committed to ensuring consumer satisfaction and protecting individuals from fraud, misinformation, and various forms of exploitation. This includes a focus on combating commercial fraud, counterfeiting, and other deceptive practices in accordance with existing laws and regulations.
