MUSCAT : Nama Water Services is on track to improve water infrastructure across the Al Buraimi Governorate with various key projects. Eng. Dawood bin Suleiman Al Salami, Director of Operations and Maintenance in Al Buraimi, highlighted several major initiatives, including the recently completed water network in the Al Nafhat area of Al Buraimi. The project, finished ahead of schedule, features a 17.5 km network of polyethene pipes, complete with 48 control rooms and 30 fire extinguishers. The network currently supports 169 connections and is set to expand to 500 connections to accommodate future population growth.

In addition, work is progressing on a new water network in the Ard Al Jaw area, which involves 16 km of polyethene pipes, 100 control valves, and 10 fire extinguishers. With a 50% completion rate, this project will increase the number of connections from 150 to 250 as urban expansion continues.

The Wilayat of Mahdha is also benefiting from Nama Water Services’ efforts. The Al Rumaila area will see the addition of a 2.6 km water network, expected to be operational by the end of July, increasing connections from 5 to 124 in line with local development.

Looking ahead, Nama Water Services plans to begin a project in November to connect new wells in Rawdah, Safwan, and Al-Zaroub. This project will enhance water security by activating these wells for emergency use, installing operational rooms, and connecting them to a 4 km pipeline network, ensuring reliable water service during critical situations.
