MUSCAT : The Ministry of Education in Oman organized the 10th GCC Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) Follow-up Team meeting, held in the picturesque city of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate. This significant event saw participation from representatives of GCC member states, the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, and several regional centres under UNESCO’s supervision, including the Regional Center for Educational Planning in Sharjah, the Regional Center for Information and Communication Technology in Manama, and the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education in Saudi Arabia.
Throughout the two-day meeting, delegates focused on assessing the progress made towards achieving SDG 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The discussions revolved around monitoring and follow-up indicators, sharing best practices and initiatives, and addressing challenges associated with the indicators of SDG 4.
A key agenda item was the review of recommendations and decisions from the recent Ministerial Committee of Education Ministers’ meeting held in Doha, Qatar.
