Oman, Pakistan foreign ministers discuss Wadi Kabir shooting incident

H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a telephone conversation with H.E. Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

MUSCAT : During the call, H.E. Albusaidi extended his heartfelt condolences to H.E. Ishaq Dar following the tragic shooting incident near a mosque in the Wadi Kabir area, which resulted in the deaths of four members of the Pakistani community. The Omani Minister expressed profound sympathy for the loss and offered support during this difficult time.

In response, H.E. Ishaq Dar conveyed his sincere condolences for the death of a security personnel in the same incident. He commended the efforts of Oman’s security authorities and healthcare institutions in managing the crisis and providing assistance.

Both ministers underscored the importance of fostering peaceful coexistence among diverse communities and denounced extremist ideologies that promote discrimination. They emphasized the need for collaborative action to uphold values of peace and mutual respect.

The discussion also covered a range of regional and international issues. The two leaders agreed on the necessity of joint action, multilateral cooperation, and dialogue to address global challenges and conflicts. They reaffirmed their commitment to respecting international law and the principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter as essential frameworks for achieving fair and just solutions.
