MUSCAT : The Royal Academy of Administration (RAA) has launched the fourth batch of its prestigious National Leadership Development and Future Foresight Programme. This initiative, part of a broader strategic package by the RAA, is developed in partnership with the Eller Centre for Executive Education at the University of Arizona.
This cohort includes 30 participants occupying roles such as Assistant Director General, Department Director, Assistant Department Director, and equivalent positions within various state administrative apparatus units. The programme aims to equip these mid-level managers with essential leadership skills and knowledge, enabling them to tackle professional challenges effectively and enhance the operational efficiency of the state’s administrative apparatus.
Dr. Fathia bint Abdullah Al Rashidi, Assistant Vice President for Programs at the RAA, emphasized the programme’s objective to modernize the governmental work system to deliver superior services that align with contemporary developments and serve the public interest. She stated the programme is designed to foster a radical and sustainable transformation in the participants’ leadership mentality, enhancing their self-awareness, behavioural insights, and leadership capabilities.

Highlighting the importance of human capital, Dr. Al Rashidi asserted that the Academy believes that human capital is the greatest asset a nation possesses and is crucial for advancing national prosperity. Hence, the Academy focuses on developing individuals’ knowledge, skills, and experiences in accordance with the rapidly evolving global landscape.
The programme features a diverse learning approach, combining accelerated experiences, individual and group training, personal interviews, and research projects. Participants will also benefit from mentorship by private sector experts, acquiring vital competencies such as a growth mindset, flexibility, agile leadership, creative and strategic thinking, and collaboration, communication, and persuasion skills.
The RAA ensures that programme units are delivered by certified Omani trainers, who are alumni of the Academy’s earlier “Certified Leadership Trainer Training Programme.”
