MUSCAT : Rahab Farm, a flagship initiative under Oman Palm Development Company, spearheads a transformative approach to palm cultivation in the Sultanate of Oman. Located 25 kilometres from Marmul Airport, the farm spans 6 square kilometres, boasting 40,000 date palm trees of the “Al Fardh” and “Al Khalas” varieties. With a cultivated area of 256 hectares, the farm is dedicated to enhancing Omani dates’ productivity and global competitiveness.


Engineer Shabib bin Ali Al Mahrouqi, Senior Specialist for Agricultural Support Services at Oman Palm Development Company, highlighted the farm’s role in utilizing the latest agricultural technologies and scientific advancements.
A notable initiative at Rahab Farm is the carbon neutrality project, which planted 30,000 lemon trees over 96 hectares in 2023. This project, a collaboration between Oman Palm Development Company, Oman Oil Development Company, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, aims to boost Oman’s lemon production by 38 per cent.
