Oman’s State Council advances key proposals and reviews audit reports in latest session

MUSCAT : The State Council Office, under the leadership of Chairman Sheikh Abdulmalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili, convened its fifth meeting of the current session to deliberate on several significant matters concerning national development and governance.

Central to the discussions were proposals put forth by the Social and Cultural Committee, notably focusing on strategies to bolster the financial sustainability of civil society institutions and optimize community engagement with cultural and artistic activities. These initiatives underscore the Council’s commitment to fostering a vibrant cultural landscape and supporting the vital role of civil society in Oman.

Additionally, attention was directed towards improving educational standards through enhancing academic achievements and developing essential competencies in school education. Discussions also delved into the imperative of digital economy strategies and robust data governance frameworks.

Moreover, the Office reviewed the annual report of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority for the year 2023, emphasizing accountability and transparency in governmental operations. Furthermore, the Council of Ministers’ responses to previous Council studies were scrutinized, alongside reports from esteemed Council members detailing their contributions to regional and international forums.
