Oman’s Shura Council condemns Wadi Kabir shooting incident

The Shura Council has issued a solemn statement in response to the tragic shooting incident in Wadi Al Kabir, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives and injuries caused.

MUSCAT : The Shura Council conveyed its profound condolences to the families of the five deceased individuals and extended sympathies to the family of the late Royal Oman Police (ROP) officer, Youssef Al-Nadabi.

The incident also left 28 people of various nationalities injured, including four members of the ROP and the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority personnel, who were carrying out their national duties.

The statement further expressed prayers for the deceased, invoking mercy and forgiveness from God, and wished a swift recovery for all those injured in the incident.

Acknowledging the efforts of Oman’s security and military agencies, as well as the contributions of citizens and residents in managing the situation, the Shura Council praised the collective national efforts.

However, it also expressed dissatisfaction with the incident, emphasizing that such actions, regardless of their motives, are unacceptable on Omani soil.

The statement concluded with a prayer for the continued safety and stability of the Sultanate of Oman under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
