CPA issues fine of RO 2500 against automotive service establishment in Oman’s Dhofar Governorate

A commercial establishment in Dhofar Governorate has been ordered to pay a fine of RO 2500 and a compensation of RO 1000 by the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA)

Muscat – As per a notice from the Authority, the case involves a commercial establishment operating in the automotive services sector, which had failed to ensure proper service delivery.

The consumer had filed a complaint alleging that the establishment failed to provide the agreed-upon service and repair the vehicle as specified.

After a thorough investigation, the CPA found the establishment guilty of the charges and ordered it to pay a fine of RO 2,500. Additionally, the establishment was asked to refund the full value of the services provided to the consumer and provide a compensation of RO 1000 for the material damage incurred due to delays in repairing his vehicle.
