MUSCAT : The Oman Maritime Security Centre launched a rescue mission after the oil tanker “Prestige Falcon” sank approximately 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah, Duqm. The vessel, carrying a crew of 16, including 13 Indians and three Sri Lankans, faced perilous conditions amidst the sea.
The Oman Maritime Security Centre has located nine crew members alive and confirmed one casualty aboard the oil tanker “Prestige Falcon,” while efforts persist to find the remaining crew.
