Oman’s GDP reaches RO 9.5 billion at constant prices

The Sultanate of Oman's gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices saw an increase of 1.7 percent by the end of the first quarter of 2024, reaching RO 9.537 billion at market price.

Muscat – This marks an improvement from the same period in 2023, where the GDP was recorded at RO 9.374 billion.
Preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information revealed mixed performance across various sectors. Crude oil activities recorded RO 2,554,900,000, showing a decline of 3.3 percent. Conversely, natural gas activities experienced a 3 percent rise, reaching RO 437.1 million.
Non-oil activities demonstrated significant growth, increasing by 4.5 percent to reach RO 6,803,300,000 at the end of the first quarter of 2024, compared to RO 6,511,700,000 in the same quarter of 2023.
The industrial sector showed progress with activities valued at RO 1,988,100,000, up from RO 1,881,700,000 in the first quarter of 2023. Agriculture, forestry, and fishing activities recorded RO 219 million, while service activities contributed RO 4,596,200,000 to the GDP.
