Real estate trading in Oman exceeds RO 1.2 billion

The total value of real estate trading in the Sultanate of Oman recorded an increase of 1.3 percent to reach RO 1.237 billion by the end of May 2024, compared to the same period in 2023

Muscat – Preliminary statistics from the National Centre for Statistics and Information indicate that fees collected for all legal transactions amounted to RO 27.2 million, a decrease of 5.7 percent compared to the end of May 2023.

The traded value of sale contracts reached RO 457.2 million for 28,023 sale contracts, reflecting a 2.3 percent decrease in value despite a 0.7 percent increase in the number of contracts.

The data also revealed that the traded value of mortgage contracts increased by 3.5 percent, totaling RO 774.5 million for 8,596 contracts. The number of exchange contracts stood at 583, with a traded value of RO 5.2 million.

By the end of May 2024, the number of properties issued reached approximately 94,194, marking a 5.7 percent decrease. However, the number of properties issued to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries increased by 2.3 percent, totaling 528 properties.
