Muscat: His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, recently made a phone call to His Excellency David Lammy, the newly appointed Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development of the United Kingdom. During the conversation, Sayyid Badr congratulated Secretary Lammy, wished him success in his new role, and emphasized the importance of fostering further development and prosperity in the cooperative relations between Oman and the UK.
The discussion also tackled the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the broader Palestinian territories. Both leaders underscored the urgent need for an international ceasefire, the provision of relief materials, the release of prisoners and detainees, and a renewed commitment to a comprehensive and lasting peace based on a two-state solution and the recognition of an independent Palestinian state.
