Sultan Qaboos University signs cooperation agreement with Moscow State University

Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) has signed a letter of cooperation with Moscow State University in the Russian Federation to promote student exchange and enhance research, educational, scientific, and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.

Muscat – The agreement was signed by Her Highness Sayyida Dr. Mona bint Fahd Al Said, Assistant Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation at SQU, and Dr. Viktor Antonovich Sadovnichiy, President of Moscow State University.
The letter of cooperation involves enhancing research and educational cooperation through the exchange of professors and researchers, in addition to conducting joint research, student exchange for undergraduate and graduate students, organizing and participating in joint lectures, meetings, seminars and conferences to enhance academic and scientific exchange.


It also covers exchange of educational and scientific materials, publications and other information to enhance academic cooperation, as well as exploring opportunities for cooperation in other areas that can enhance scientific and cultural cooperation between institutions. Additionally, it will encompass implementing initiatives aimed at building capacities and enhancing skills and competencies in specific areas.
It is worth noting that Moscow State University, established in 1755, is one of the oldest and largest universities in the Russian Federation. It holds the 87th position in the QS World University Rankings for 2024, reflecting its status as a leading global academic institution.
