MUSCAT : H.E. Sheikh Ghosn Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of the State Audit Institution, submitted the report to His Majesty the Sultan. Copies were also sent to the Council of Ministers and the Council of Oman.
As per the annual report, a total of 951 complaints and reports were dealt by SAI during the year 2023.
These complaints covered a range of issues, including financial and administrative violations, concerns about the integrity of tender processes, and suspected abuse of authority.
The report highlights that 87 percent of these complaints were investigated and addressed by the SAI.
SAI also conducted 187 oversight missions across various government units, agencies, investments, and companies. These missions resulted in 185 oversight reports that were communicated to relevant authorities.
The report details inspections conducted in various sectors, including trade, economy, tourism, housing, labor, health, education, and governorate offices. Additionally, the SAI examined topics related to energy, minerals, aviation, environment, electricity, water, and food security.
