Muscat – Dr. Adil bin Ali Al Jabri, Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Catheterization Specialist at the Center, told Oman News Agency that these procedures, introduced in June 2022, have shown promising outcomes. This innovative approach addresses complex and calcified arterial blockages, which traditional methods cannot treat effectively.

Dr. Al Jabri highlighted the introduction of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technology concurrently, marking its debut in Oman. OCT plays a crucial role in diagnosing and selecting precise treatments for intricate arterial cases by providing high-resolution images of blood vessels.

The Orbital Atherectomy technique involves advanced mechanisms capable of removing calcified deposits with exceptional accuracy while preserving surrounding healthy tissues. Dr. Al Jabri emphasized that OCT complements this method, enhancing diagnostic accuracy and treatment selection tailored to each patient.

The integration of these cutting-edge technologies at the National Center for Cardiac Medicine and Surgery marks a significant advancement in enhancing care for patients battling cardiovascular diseases.
