Muscat: Iranian voters residing in the Sultanate of Oman headed to the polls at the Iranian embassy in Muscat to participate in the second round of the 14th presidential election. Voting began at 8:00 am and will continue until 6:00 pm, as part of a global voting effort spanning 138 diplomatic missions abroad.
The need for a second round of voting arose after no candidate secured 50 per cent of the votes in the initial election held on June 27. The runoff features Masoud Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili, the two candidates who garnered the highest number of votes in the first round.
