Muscat – The French authorities initiated the recall due to concerns about the can lining containing Bisphenol A (BPA).
BPA is used in the production of phenoxy resin containers and has been linked to various health concerns.
The affected product is the 350ml Coca-Cola Cherry flavored soft drink identified by Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) 5449000195364 and production code LO9B 8/2/2025.
According to available data, the recalled Coca-Cola Cherry was distributed only in French markets and has not entered Oman, the FSQC stated. However, as a precautionary measure, the Center is working with relevant authorities to confirm the absence of affected products in Omani markets.
The FSQC advises all consumers in Oman to avoid consuming the specific Coca-Cola Cherry product with the details mentioned above (GTIN and production code).
