- Choose the right trail for your fitness level.
- Familiarize yourself with the trail.
- Inform your relatives of your route and location.
- Wear the right shoes and socks.
- Check the weather.
Important Requirements: - Emergency shelter (Carry a tent for unexpected situations).
- Illumination (headlamp/flashlight).
- Extra clothing, nutrition and water.
- Carry matches, a lighter and candle.
- Use sun protection.
- Navigation systems (have a map and compass).
