Muscat – Over the course of Eid inspections, CPA teams conducted a total of 12,377 visits to monitor compliance across several sectors including sheep pens, meat shops, vegetable and fruit shops, markets, commercial complexes, women’s beauty centers, men’s salons, sewing shops, pastry shops, and other establishments witnessing increased customer traffic during Eid.
These efforts led to the identification of 210 violations, with the most common offenses detailed as follows:

1. Failure to affix price labels on goods and services: 55 cases
2. Failure to issue purchase invoices: 44 cases
3. Unauthorized price hikes without prior approval from CPA: 34 cases
4. Failure to deliver commodities or complete agreed services on time: 20 cases
   Consumers are encouraged to report any suspected violations through the toll-free consumer line, CPA’s social media accounts, and direct communication channels with CPA inspectors deployed in markets.
