MUSCAT : The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, alongside Knowledge Oasis Muscat—the technical arm of Madayn—launched the “Smart Mobility Service Using Electric Scooters” experiment. This pilot project, facilitated through the Ministry’s “Sandbox” regulatory initiative, marks the first of its kind in Oman.
The primary objective of this trial is to regulate and promote electric scooters as an efficient and sustainable mode of transport. The initiative aims to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions by encouraging the adoption of alternative transportation methods. This six-month operational trial in Knowledge Oasis Muscat will allow citizens and residents to experience the benefits of electric scooters, assessing their effectiveness and impact on urban mobility.
