Muscat: In its recent report, Gartner highlights that IT services spending in the MENA region is projected to surge by 9.6% in 2024. Miriam Burt, Executive Vice President of Analytics at Gartner, emphasized that regional IT leaders focus on expanding professional and advisory services. This move aims to facilitate the transition to cloud computing and leverage advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), generative AI, and Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Additionally, companies are looking to capitalize on data monetization opportunities created by the convergence of these technologies.

However, the forecast for device spending in the MENA region is less optimistic. Gartner predicts a 4.5% decline in 2024 due to fluctuating demand for new devices such as mobile phones, across various countries in the region.
