Oman and Algeria sign MoU to enhance social development ties

The Ministry of Social Development has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to advance various areas of social development.

MUSCAT : The agreement was signed by H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Ahmed Attaf, Algeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad.

The MoU aims to foster cooperation in the development, protection, and care of families, children, and the elderly. It also seeks to organize social and volunteer work, activate the role of civil society institutions, and enhance the care and rehabilitation of people with disabilities.

Key objectives include exchanging experiences and visits in the field of rehabilitation, conducting joint research, and coordinating efforts at conferences to showcase the social development achievements of both nations. Additionally, the agreement supports productive family projects and promotes the social and economic empowerment of families.
