MUSCAT : Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, the festival aims to discover and promote Omani singing talents while fostering collaboration between government and private sectors.

The Omani Song Festival, established in 1994, is renowned for its role in nurturing and showcasing the artistic potential of Omani singers. This year’s screening committee, led by esteemed artist Muhammad Al-Mukhaini, along with composer Abdul Karim Muslim, Dr. Haitham Al-Busaidi, maestro Hisham Jabr, and poet Hassan Al-Matroushi, has a meticulous evaluation process. The committee is assessing contestants based on melody, text quality, voice attributes, tonal and rhythmic emphasis, performance creativity, and overall charisma.

Participants aged 18 to 36 are required to collaborate with Omani poets and composers on new, unpublished works limited to themes of emotion and nature. Each contestant is allowed to submit only one song, not exceeding five minutes. The committee focuses on melody harmony, poetic eloquence, and text cohesion, ensuring that each entry meets high artistic standards.
